Privacy Policy

Restify is an open-source API client by mbonyeemma. This policy explains what data Restify Cloud collects when you create an account, and how it is used. You can use the desktop app entirely offline without an account; this policy applies to the optional cloud sync service at app.restify.online and the API at api.restify.online.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — your email address and display name, provided when you register or sign in with Google.
  • Authentication data — a securely hashed password (if you register with email), or a Google account identifier (if you sign in with Google). We never store your Google password.
  • Your content — the API collections, requests, and environments you choose to sync to your account.
  • Technical data — basic request logs needed to operate and secure the service.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and authenticate your account.
  • To sync your collections and environments across your devices.
  • To send essential transactional emails (verification codes, password resets, welcome message).
  • To maintain the security and reliability of the service.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, we request only your basic profile (name and email) through Google's OAuth consent screen. We use this solely to create or identify your Restify account. Restify's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers operated for Restify Cloud. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Authentication uses signed tokens transmitted over HTTPS. While no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

5. Third-party services

  • Google — optional OAuth sign-in.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email.

These providers process data only as needed to perform their function.

6. Your rights

You can update your name in the app, change or reset your password, and request deletion of your account and synced data at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your synced collections and environments from our servers.

7. Data retention

We retain your account and synced content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, associated data is removed from active systems.

8. Children

Restify is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
